Tip 1: Sign up for a food delivery app that is local to the area you are traveling and go ahead and do some research on options you might be able to access from your hotel.
Tip 2: If you don’t have mini fridge access, see how much extra it would cost to have one put in your room.
Tip 3: Pack your own travel size safe condiments that you can use for restaurant meals.
Tip 4: Bring a set of microwaveable dishes and disposable cutlery that you can use for quick meals in your hotel room.
Tip 5: Pack a few nonperishable meal options that you could microwave. IDEAS: Tasty Bite Meals, rice pouch, microwavable quinoa, this rice and beans meal.
Tip 6: Bring a good insulated bag that you can fold flat for travel but use for any leftovers that need to be refrigerated for travel home.
Tip 7: Do a Google search to see what grocery stores are nearby, so that you know what you will be able to purchase locally.
Tip 8: Bring or purchase locally some easily breakfast options like instant oatmeal, dairy free yogurts, safe bread, etc. For protein, add collagen powder, nut butter, or dried meat.
Tip 9: If you plan to be out and about during the day, travel with some ziplock bags and a small insulated lunchbox (the Medela Pump bottle cooler works amazing for this!) so that you can easily pack snack portions or even a sandwich.
Tip 10: Use YELP app to research safe restaurants nearby. Use the search feature for keywords like “gluten free” (which often indicates that a restaurant is more allergy friendly) or even “vegan,” “dairy free,” or “soy.”
